Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Debbie Christian on February 12, 2016 at 1:31am: My son is stationed at Pax River, he has been there nearly a year. He has been a sailor for 9 years. He and his new wife live near the base. They found housing fairly easy to find in the area. Love to hear from other Navy Mom's or family!

Comment by Jan C on February 11, 2016 at 9:27am: Our son will be stationed at Pax River in May after attending school, so I thought I'd join the group early to get to know about y'all and find out about the area. He still has to find a place to live. He's been in the Navy 13 years, so relocating is nothing new to him. I'm curious about the best places for family to stay when we go to visit him. Looking forward to getting to know this group.

Comment by SandraDee6 on September 25, 2015 at 12:03pm: My daughter is reporting for duty on Oct 3rd. Her flight gets in at 9pm. Does anyone know the best and most economical way for her to get to the base from the airport? She's kind of freaking out because she has to report by midnight.

Steven spemt 3 years in Pax, My daughter in law still works on base there but Son now commutes to Yroktown during the week and home on weekends. Its a really nice area 12 hour drive from where I am so not that bad.

Does anyone have any tips on hotels in area or sites to see. We will be going to visit as soon as we can get to him. We currently live in Florida so we are very excited to get him alittle closer to home.

Comment by Prouddad on April 3, 2013 at 10:50am: My son is graduating from C school in Pensacola and will report to PAX Rixer on 4/18/13. This is his first "real job" in the Navy and he's excited to fianlly be out of school and assigned to a new command. We live just outside of Baltimore, MD so we'll be able to drive our son to the base. My wife and I look forward to visiting him in Southern Maryland while he's stationed there for the next two years. He's an ET and I'm hoping they'll keep him busy.....
