Hi Sue! WE all love museums and since our children are in the Navy, I, for one, have immersed myself in learning history facts as a way to absorb myself into supporting my son.

I found this as I was searching for flag images on google to add to my welcome home banner. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.paulsilverstone.com/Images/books/us-navy-1945-shad.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.paulsilverstone.com/books/&usg=__iSZTjg0i_yTe4kI8iN_L8IVN02M=&h=534&w=424&sz=30&hl=en&start=37&tbnid=Kz8AsyRgE1EdvM:&tbnh=132&tbnw=105&prev=/images%3Fq%3Du%2Bs%2Bnavy%26start%3D20%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN

Whoa, that was long!

OK, so its the complete history, not just the RTC. The book I showed is so exciting. It show John PHillip Sousa and how he was the Navy's band leader at the time!

Paige, that was a great link! The simpler the better.
Connie, you know better than to ask me that. I just ride along.
I will see everyone at Thanksgiving though, and I'll ask my dad and brother.

Hi--did anyone watch the PBS special last night on
Medal of Honor?
It was very thought provoking. So few have been awarded during these days.

OK Connie, there's gonna be a test. Tell me what those 3 airplanes are - (and I'll have to go ask my dad, LOL!) I'd love to know the carrier too, maybe my brother knows, I'll ask him.

Cool. Air Force is good Connie, I shall share it with my father.
Hi Carol, Marilyn and Paige. There you are!!!! Hey, girls!
BTW, is this the book? You said history of the navy. This is just a history of the GL Naval Training Station. I could not put the book down until I read it all! Yes I had a brother and 2 cousins in the Navy, but my Uncle was in the Navy and another Uncle (army) died over in the Phillipines when they invaded. So my Uncle would have joined somewhere in the early or mid 40's.

This is "Navy Medicine, saving lives on land and sea." Good article for those who have family as corpsmen and women.
