Welcome Zach's stepmom. I am in Jacksonville so a bit far from you. They normally get to have 4 at graduation. But if it will be a large group they may limit to 2. The tickets are not really tickets he has to put your name on the list to be able to get into graduation also know as PIR. And yes you have to pay your own way.
Thanks, Jody!
I actually do have a question about the end of boot camp. My step son informed his father tonight that he gets 2 tickets at the end for graduation. Is that tickets just for the ceremony? We'd be responsible for the flight?
Just want to make sure we understood him correctly. I need to start saving up for flights if that's the case!
Thank you for any help!
Hi Denise:
I'm right in Boynton Beach. My son graduated boot camp this past May. Would love to get together sometime. Jody, a proud Navy Mom.
Hello all!
My name is Denise from Boca Raton, about to send my step son off to boot camp tomorrow. Really glad to have found this group!
Navymom, He doesn't want to rent he really would like a forclosure or something on that note. Then he can live there while my husband and him fix it up then sell it when they go to Rota next fall. My daughter in law and grand daughter are stying up in Pax River Md as she works on base there at a really good job and they have a beautiful home there. She will go to Spain when he goes there. I have had my own real estate office for 22 years until the market crashed and I just couldn't afford to keep it open so now I work for the local water company but my brokers lic is still active so my boys know that buying at the right price and right location is key. He can stay on the ship in the meantime but I need to start looking for him now., The name of a good realtor would be good. We aregoing on a five night cruise out of Jax on the 30th and get back on the morning of the 4th so I thought we could stick around and do some looking then. Plus we are only 2 1/2 hours drive away. Is your son going to the Carney?
Karen sounds like he will be at Mayport. There are lots of nice areas and some not so nice areas. I live in Middleburg and really don't know much about the Mayport area. I can however recommend a realtor when it comes that time. He may start looking at Militarybyowner.com you can find rentals and homes for sale by other military people. That is how we found our first house to rent.
Navymom 3 Steven will be joining the crew of the USS Carney this fall and he will be looking to purchase a fixer upper there area ideas as far as good or bad areas? 2013 congrats for your son I am sure he will like Florida.
Welcome navymom2013. We live here in Jax but my son has already done his 3 yrs here and is now in Cali. His wife is from here so I am sure he will be back. My other son is in Japan then also heading to Cali. Your son will like it here. I know my son did.
Hello, Navy Moms!
I am from the mid-West and my Sailor will join the ranks of Floridians soon. My grandmother was named Florida even though she was born in France.
Sooooo, I am transferring my allegiance from Norfolk to the JAX crew. Sometime I will travel there and maybe some of us can meet up!
Proud as can be and missing my sailor bunches.
Awww, that's great. I'm happy for you and your family. Yes a big cake indeed! Enjoy Karen.
