mamabear8513 - we went to sarge's meet and greet before the PIR - he answered almost all my questions then and he gave us information that made it so much easier to get on the base and park for PIR - try to go to that- it was great and so helpful.  The place they have it is a little strange but I met alot of moms and the food was awesome.

Good luck on your trip - good luck to your son

Things are looking up!!!!

My son passed his final sub school test yesterday and is getting his blue card -

hopefully in a few days but he says he will have it for sure by graduation.

I am getting kind of worried about him taking me back to Rhode Island airport when I leave.  Can they leave CT. and go to RI. with a blue card? If not, it's taxi time.

My son is in Great Lakes and from what I understand he will be staying there for a couple months after PIR.  I feel like I am on info Overload. I don't know what questions to ask but I am sure I have a lot of them. 9 of us will be driving up leaving on 10/2 to be there and spend the weekend with him. we are staying at Embassy Suites. Any tips knowing that info would be great!

Hi! mambear8513 - we are happy you are here - congrats and thanks to your son for his dedication to our country.  I am from Dunedin in Pinellas County.  Be sure and ask if you have questions about PIR - most of us have been there and will never forget that.  Maybe we can help.  Is your new recruit in Great Lakes?

Hi Florida Mom -  I lived in Tampa for forty years.  We should all have a get together lunch or dinner somewhere in the middle to trade stories and meet each other. Aircraft Carrier WOW - My son is soon to be on a Fast Attack sub

but don't know which one yet.  He is in CT. finishing his quals.

Nice to meet you both.

Hi! Is anyone from Florida going to Groton, Ct on Oct 20 for BESS graduation.

I would love to meet up with anyone from my state while I am there or maybe if someone is unable to attend I can pass along a message to their graduate.
