Good morning Ladies, from Ocoee, my son left for Jax yesterday and got on a plane this morning for GL. These are definitely the most mixed up emotions I have ever had! I am excited to see him live out his dream more than anything.

Hubby and I were in Palm City 2 weekends ago meeting up with some Marine families.  I love meet and greets.  I don't know how I would have made it through 2 boys leaving within months of each other to join our military ranks!  My Sailor graduated boot camp 7/20/12 and his brother left for Marine boot camp on 9/4/12.  I have met some AMAZING people over the last year.  There is NOTHING better than the love and support that we can provide each other.  I LOVE the facebook pages too, so nice and private, it's a little more comfortable there than talking on the public forums.

Hi everyone! I have been in Florida for 6 yrs now but am a new Navy mom. My son recently PIR'd Feb 1st. He is now in Washington. I started a group on Facebook named Southwest Florida Navy Moms. I live in the Sarasota area and would love to meet other moms in the vicinity. There are about 15 members as of now. There are moms from all over, but I really would like to keep the members within a close proximity. If anyone is interested in joining please send a request. We are trying to plan a meet and greet but have not figured anything out yet. We are trying to get a time and place convenient for all.

Hello! I just joined this group. My son just left for boot camp yesterday. While it was way harder than I imagine, this website has been a blessing. When I found this group I was thrilled to connect to moms in FL. I live about 20 minutes north of Tampa. We have only lived in FL for 2 years but love it. Besides my future sailor I have 2 younger boys. We don't know many people so I am happy to find this group that share the state with me! If anything is every going on in the Tampa Bay Area, please share.....I would love go meet other Navy moms.
