Hi Annette

My SR is going to Pensacola after RTC I think.  He's a rescue swimmer.  I didnt get as much detail from the Recruiter however I understand on the Navy website there is an outline of the different training schedules based on their rates.   In any cae, the PIR is May 4th.   How exciting!!!

This link gives you all the naval rates(jobs) and there description and how long there initial schooling is and where.

http://usmilitary.about.com/od/enlistedjob1/a/navyjobs.htm

Keep in mind most have additional schooling which can be preclasses before the actual a school or c classes for a specialty after there a school.

Both of my sailor had a pre class, a school and a c school class. It just depends on there rate.

Hi Annette! My SRs PIR is May 4th. He left out of Jacksonville Mar. 13. He is in the Navy Diver BC. All of this gets kind of confusing. I know he will be in GL for A training and I thought he was suppose to be there about 8 weeks and then to Panama City for 15 weeks. I keep hearing different time frames so not sure what will go on until I start getting letters from him. Good luck to your Gunner!

Pjay and snowskiier... when is your PIR?  Mine is May 11th... my son is a gunners mate and will be at Great Lakes after for 27 weeks. My son left out of Tampa on the 13th of March
