Snowskiier--You are right, my SR is a diver. He stays in Great Lakes for another 6-8 weeks after BC then he will go to Panama City for 15 weeks (per his recruiter). Maybe navymom3 can give you more info. That's what is so great....when you post something here there is always someone who can give you more info.

Thanks navymom3!

It just depends on there job as to where they go to school. All CT, IT and aviation rates go to Pcola for school. Both of my sailors went to Pcola for school.

Hi pjay...wow do you have the info!!  I think my SR will be going to Pensacola for A school. At least that is what he shared prior to leaving.  I'll have to ask for an update.  We will stay till Mondayif he gets time over the weekend for sure.  Yours is a diver and mine is search and rescue I think....

Hi snowskiier! I did receive the pics and I sent you an email. Hope you got it. Thank you so much! I am going to look at lodging shortly. Will see if Navy Lodge has something. I think we will arrive on Thursday and leave on Monday. From what I understand they will only have a short with us on Friday right after PIR because they will have to process into their new barracks there at Great Lakes for A training. Suppose to take 3-5 hours for that and then they will have liberty until about 7:30 (depending on what their superior says). Then liberty Saturday and Sunday until about 7:00. So I am going to get all the visitation I can. Lol! Didn't know if you knew this. There is so much on this website. It is great!

Hi pjay!

I received the laundry...his girl received the form letter.  Nothing personally written yet.  I did make reservations this morning at the NAVY LODGE.  Great rates (65 a night) and close to the PIR.  I am planning to stay through Sunday just in case extra time comes available.  Working on the plane reservations now and the rental car.   This site has been great in helping us to understand his new world.  Thaks to all the other moms for their feedback and support!

snowskiier--I am glad you found me. Our guys left together 3/13. We received the box with form letter on Sat. 3/17. It was much quicker than I expected. Still no letter from him. Hoping it will come soon. Starting to get homesick for him. Have you made any travel/lodging plans?

Hello to everyone else! We are from Flagler/Volusia counties.I love reading all the posts. Helps to hear what is going on.

congrats on everyone getting letters soon. They are wonderful to read. I know a mom who when she wrote did like a questionaire type letter as her son said he never knew what to write. But just keep writing as they love to get mail.
