Stephen has been gone for 1 1/2 years, and still has toys in it.

Carol, I think we are two peas in a pod. I gutted Dougs room and bath a week after he left so I could get over that empty nest problem. lol I just finished up with the help of one of his friends. There is still a very large box to teenage Mutant Ninja Turles in his closet. lol Have a great day. I am off to Walmart it on my list of busy work.

This website is great--I have learned alot and talk to some super nice people and laugh at some very funny comments! It really does help! I still have to go thru my son's room and clean and repaint. His closet still has toys and school projects in it! Do you work?

Hey Carol, I am very lucky. Meghan and all of Doug's friends are what got me through missing him so bad. Doug has loved being here but is ready to move on to his frist duty station. I have my list of busy work to keep myself busy the frist few hours he is gone that should help get through at least Friday. LOL Finding this site and making new Navy Mom friends will be a big blessing.

What a blessing to have a house filled with friends! As well as another female that can be a support! Your son sounds like a lucky man to have such a loving family.

Good Morning Everyone. Doug's last day home. House is full of his friends that stayed overnight to be here today. things are still quite yet. Planning big breakfast and mass packing detail. LOL His dear sweet girlfriend is getting up at 5AM to take him to the airport tomorrow. We have been each others rock lately. Goat aka hubby is no help in this matter. He put in 23 years in the Navy and knows what goodbyes are all about. Well I am off to make some sausage gravy and batter for the pancakes. Everyone have a great day.

For me it does help knowing that my son loves what he is doing and is happy. This was a good step for him, so though I miss him, being able to pick up the phone and talk keeps me from getting too down about the fact that he isn't home. For now, anyway, he still needs me like he did when he was little....:)

Welcome Kat, nice to see so many new Navy moms on our site. It does get easier, except for holidays. Be proud, all will be well. God bless all our sailors.

Hi Kat, Nice to meet you. For me goodbyes are always hard, but knowing he is happy and doing well has made it a bit easier. I'm heading into my first long deployment, so hopefully I havent spoken too soon!
