Good morning Fl Moms. I am new to the group. I am in Kissimmee. Hoping to get to know you all. Mine is home on leave right now. Trying hard to get as much time with him as I can. Friday will be here before I know it. It was so hard when he left for boot. thought I was going to lose my mind. See he my youngest and has been living at home for the last 2 years till he made up his mind on what he wanted to do. We are so proud of him for choosing the Navy but it didn't make it any easier to let him go. My question of the day is dose it get any easier?

I have two in the Navy. They both signed up on the same day, came home and announce, "we are going in the Navy". Like, "we're big now and there's not a thing you can do about it." My foster son went in right away- it liked to kill me. He loved the Navy so much, he tried to get into active duty. It was easier the second time because we knew a little bit of what to expect. My youngest did the dep program and waited a year. My foster son is in the reserves in Orlando and found out yesterday that he is now a petty officer. I'm so happy for him! My youngest will be home for Christmas, he is flying in from the west coast. He likes the Navy so much that he has already signed up for 2 more years. I guess I'm in this for the long haul.
It is so good to see this site becoming active. I would love to go to Jax and the Keys for the packing parties, (and will if I can) but holidays and work make it hard. Anything happening in central Florida?

I am excited. I received my first letter from my daughter. She put a smile on the letter. That made my heart feel soooooooo good. :)

Hi everyone--I am in Jacksonville--My son just went to Pre-Buds after he PIR'd 10-29. This is all new to me, so I am learning as I go...I did get to meet some families at the MandG when we went to graduation--just not enough time to meet everyone I would have liked to! I am excited to see the local groups--I will have to check those out!
