Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Linda, I am in the Viera area! I have two sons in Navy. My older son is 22 and is with a helicopter squadron in San Diego and my younger son is 19 and currently in boot camp. :)

Hi ladies. Hoping to connect with other Florida moms. My son has been in for 9 months stationed in Kings bay Georgia . He will be leaving on his first patrol on a sub in a few months. So happy he is close by. We live on the east coast of the state in Melbourne.

The post office does passports. But you do have to make an appointment as they have limited hours for passports.

My sailor needs a passport before deployment. I have the passport photo, official birth certificate, and papers he needs to fill out. Where is the nearest passport office and do they have limited hours? and What is the best way to get these papers shipped to him fast? I was hoping to get it shipped somewhere on base since he can't get it brought to the ship, but I can't seem to find that "someplace."
He doesn't have much time left. I know that the passport will have to be shipped to me so I can route it to him on the ship out at sea, hopefully before they dock the first time.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

good morning aster, Steve is an IT and loves his job also. This short tour in Mayport is hard on him because he is just there for a year so his wife and 4 year old daughter stayed in Pax River Md. She has a really good job for the Navy and it was best that they stay there while he is here for the next year. They will all be here for Thanksgiving next week and I cant wait.

karen p, he is in his 2nd year in the Navy, he has been talking about making it a career... he loves Coronado and he loved participating in RIMPAC this summer while aboard USS Ronald Reagan! :)
What doe Steve do? Obviously he enjoys it!

Jenn he is really a newbie. Good for him. When does he get out of Boot? Aster, thats Great is he planning on staying in after this tour? Steve just had his 20th anniversary in and plans on staying for another ten.
