FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's site maybe saved my life because over the course of the 6weeks that Mitch was gone It was very hard and only 1 call other than the "I'm a sailor call". Let me know if you have anyother questions or I can be of help...

Finally I started looking around at how others had been accepted and I messaged a guy named Recruit Man and asked him to approve me and he did right away... maybe try that. When did your son/daughter leave for bc?

Comment by Bmims on August 17, 2012 at 7:48pm: First week of school- students are great! Been a very busy three weeks getting ready. First phone call from the ship last Thursday. It's all good when the school counselor is crying right!!!(tears of joy and only after he said goodbye - or the very annoying woman reminded us we only had 60 seconds!!! He's received 3/4 boxes and sounds excited and ready for the next port. I shared pictures of the Ike with all the elementary students- so many have connections to the military! TGIF enjoy your weekend.
