WenDee - congrats!!!! What is his rate? Did  you get any photos? Ask your son who took some. I had gotten this one when mine graduated NACCS. L is the second from the left and has his hand on his hip. He is "going up to the mountain" for the second half of SERE..I'll be nervous for a whole week!!

A reminder of the price that is paid for our freedom.. While rumored to lose his life to friendly fire, he was a courageous HM who paid the ultimate price!

"Fair winds and Following Seas" Sailor, our prayer are with your family and friends!

Thanks Suzi. It's scary when the kids don't have any sense of direction and as a parent you don't want to see them unhappy in their job. Heck! we don't like to see them unhappy period! Thanks Suzi for the vote of confidence. It's nice to get confirmation that we're doing things the right way.

Wanda.....sounds like your daughter knows exactly what she wants....good for her!! Some just don't research enough and get stuck in something they don't like. I truly never had any idea how many options there were in the Navy! Looks like you have nothing to worry aout with your daughter. and, that college degree is a real boost to her opportunities. Good luck to her and to  you, Mom cuz you are on the journey, too!

Suzi, thanks for the tip. My daughter really wants MC but if that is not available her 2nd choice is OS (Operations Specialist) and 3rd choice is QM (Quarter Master). She likes all three but her favorite is MC. Her goal is to get into the NAVY especially with the current recession. She graduated college May 2010 and has not been able to get a job! She feels she can cross rate at a later time if necessary. Eventually after being enlisted for a few years her goal is to apply for OCS.

My son is Aircrew Avionics - he needed a combined 210.Wanda - make sure she only signs for a job she really wants. I've said it before on other groups...my son went back to his recruiter 3 times before this job opened up. He only wanted Aircrew.

Joan - I believe at week 3 we got more phone calls. They can increase the amount of calls if they do well as a division...please their RDCs. My son was lucky and was in a div that really worked together. They were one of the co-ed div. and they had fun, but worked hard.
