Welcome Wanda! - My son graduated BC in mid August. His rate is AWV.
Does your daughter have a rate in her contract?
Comment by JudyB. on March 11, 2011 at 10:22pm
WandaG, My sons rate is FMF Corpsman, he finished up all of his training Dec.14th for a total of 8 months. He is a reservists but he drills up at his Drill Station in the middle of Los Angles 1 weekend a month; just one artery of the U.S. Navy!

Hi Kathyf and wgiaquinto,  Welcome to Navy4moms and congratulations to your sailor for passing PIR and congratulations to your new SR! There are so many groups on this site that I'm sure you will find a group for your son/daughter's rate, your state where you live, hobby sites and faith sites too! You always have family here!

Hi Everyone, I just joined your group. My daughter is very excited about joining the navy. We're handing in her paperwork next week. Her recruiter is great and we love all the support and encouragement we receive there. I am very supportive and excited for her. She is interested in the arts and media, possibly journalism. My ex-husband was in the Air Force for 13 years and we had a good life during our time. It's all what you make of it. My son is finishing up tech school with the Air Force in April and will be assigned to Germany.
I was excited to learn about this site through the recruiter. I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible.

Fuzzy - what is your daughter's rate? Mine is AWV and waiting to leave for SERE training. How nice to get an email......texting, email , skype, etc...make it so much easier! When my first husband was in the Navy there was none of those.

Shirley - Where is your son now? What is his rate?
