Just checking in to see how everyone is feeling. I know that the warmer weather really helps me. Living in The Pacific Northwest does not lend itself to many really hot days (thank god), but warmer teps, less rain and more sunlight are very helpful to day to day life.
Take care.
Hello Ladies, I haven't been around for awhile, but was reading your posts from last summer. There are two things that have helped me with my pain related to FM, RA and OA, and many other issues. One is massage therapy. I have an awesome massage therapist who really listens to me and directs her attention to the areas that happen to be bothering me the most on that given day(s). She is from Sweden, and knows that I can't handle any kind of deep tissue massage. The other is acupuncture. My Rheumotoligist had been suggesting acup. for many years, but I was very leary of it. I finally ook the plunge and found the best acupuncturist around (IMHO)!!! Both work out of the same office and I see each one every other week at this time of the year.
My insurance pays for both which is why I'm lucky enough to be able to see both twice a month. I highly suggest looking into either one or both if you are interested. I found that finding "the right" person makes all the difference, and I've been seeing both of my "angels" for years now.
Thanks for the reply Sharon. Did Diego get married also? Chris and his wife are moving into their own apt. at the end of the month. I'm really proud of both of them. This is a very "grown up" move for them. I had heard that the Enterprise had been deployed. I wish Diego and all of our Sailors a safe and uneventful trip.
I took myself off of FB last summer. I'll send you a PM on why, and why my life has been turned upside down.
Hi Sharon. I'm glad you posted something. I've been gone from the site for a few months. Can you believe it's been a year since our kids were at bc? How is Diego doing? I'm slowly finding other mom's from March 2011 bc days.
My son is great. He's a Reserve with the Seabees and loves it! He got married after he arrived home from A school last August, and he and his wife are doing well. My life has been flipped upside down, never a dull moment.
I better run. Take care.
I wanted to pass on this website to others - it is encouragement and hope for those with chronic illness and several of the writers have FM and multiple other difficulties. My caring, supportive State Manager of Classical Conversations sent it to me with her love and prayers. I hope that reading these writings/devotionals may give some hope to others. http://chronicillnesspaindevotionals.wordpress.com/
Praying for all - Val
Hi Val!!! Glad to *see* you here with us. I am sorry that you have had to go through so much. It truly is not fun, there are so many other things that go along with having Fibro. Having had to for over 14 years now, the body has gone through so many changes. I at times, do one day at a time. Right now, dealing with the migraine at the tail end. I found some oil that I was able to rub on my neck and I'm waiting right now to see how it will work. It has been since last Saturday, forgot that I had the oil. ugh! I WILL remember for the next one, they don't come too often which is good.
Beverly, That is awesome that you have found some great relief and to be able to stop the meds. God is good, All the time!! Prayers that it continues for you!!!
Hi all, Found this site through Sharon-Diego's Mom - Thanks so much.
Just diagnosed with FM the beginning of July but probably have had it for awhile. I seem to have mild pain days and then a major flare up - but haven't gotten a pattern yet. I am glad for the times that I am able to do things with the family and very grateful that for my son's CS school graduation I felt well enough. Then had a night and day of intense burning flare up all over. Through it all God is faithful to us as we learn how to be flexible and finding out it's ok to say I can't do something, Thank you for a NAVY site where people understand.
