Pat, I don't blame you!  There is absolutely no way I would drive in New York!  I don't want you to go just because of me - but I would LOVE to see everyone again!  I'll let you know closer to time.

Wow - We had a "snow day" here in southeast Texas last Friday.  No snow - but there was ice on the bridges so all traffic was stopped.  I don't understand why we can miss two to three weeks of school when a hurricane hits and don't have to make up the days - but y'all have to make them up because of snow.  We will probably make up our one day on Good Friday (unless we get a state waiver).

Pat, if I come to New York again on Memorial Day are you going to be my "escort" again?   I couldn't have made it without you!!   Did you go last year?  I'm thinking about it!

four snow days in TX

interesting.

we did not have snow  days in Ohio unless there was a blizzard and the temps were way below 0

we might have to go on Saturdays or later in June or on Sunday afternoon. for make up days.

Hello everyone! Just found this group. My son leaves for BC on 20110118. I'm excited, nervous, and proud of his decision to join the Navy. As for me, I teach third grade. Love third!

Hi Pat!
She's headed for a little town called Maspeth. I'm sure you know the place better than I, but the way I understand it, she'll technically be in Queens, just on the border of Brooklyn. So, she's right there with you!
I'm apprehensive about missing her, but I'm feeling really confident about her "mission" in going--even in going so far away. New Yorkers will take good care of my baby, I have no doubt. ;)

Hi, Hi!
Happy to meet you all. Like T's mom, I'm a little on the outskirts . . . been working as the Asst. Reading Coach in my kids' high school for five years, but am 7 weeks shy of finishing my teaching degree and will HOPEFULLY be "certificated" in time to teach when we return from Christmas Break. It's all very exciting!
My daughter (oldest of two kids) is moving to New York in four days to pursue a dream. My son is scheduled to leave for boot camp on December 15th. So, hubby and I are about to be empty-nesters . . . and me with a brand new career blooming! It's a very exciting time for our family.
Musicmom -- when do you go for PIR for your son? Soon??
