FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi My son leaves for boot camp in July. I am a hospice crisis care nurse in georgia.Just joined Navy for mom's this week. All the information has been so helpful so far.

welcome navy1of5 the time will go so fast.  make sure you look at the info for PIR on this site, so much to do, I was unaware until too late and missed some things. I'm sure u've received "the box" by now, the letter won't be too far behind.  Just a hint, when you write her, don;t put anything on the outside unless u want her to enjoy "special" attention. (Or so I've heard!)

So glad to find this group! My daughter is in her first week at Great Lakes. I'm a public health nurse. Been in nursing for 32 years.

My son left for boot camp on 1/19/12 (w/ PIR 3/16/12- hopefully).  I am an RN working at Naval Medical Center San Diego in Utilization Management as a UR nurse.

Hi all- Ive been a nurse for 28 years, 21 in a public school.  My son in set to return from his first deployment soon.  Can't wait to see him!

My son just left for basic training on the 31st.  So glad I found this website and group.  I am Colorado RN currently working night shift but hoping to switch to days soon.  So nervous about the next couple of months for my son, but also excited and very proud.  I'm sure the worry won't end with basic though!
