Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am new to this group. I am a school nurse. My son is in boot camp. Was suppose PIR on the 12th but has stress fractures in both legs so is rehab for 4-6 weeks. we are in week 2 of rehab.

Hey Nurses,

We have a question about vaccinations on the forum thread, and we hope one of you nurses will chime in and let us know the true facts about the "Peanut Butter"shot, and why you can't get it in Navy boot camp if you're allergic to penicillin.

I am a retired RN after 40 yrs. of nursing, 3 yrs of med/surg nursing, 28 yrs were in the Emergency Room and the last 9 yrs in a Medical Outpatient Unit. I retired in 2009 and now volunteer 1 day a week at the same hospital where I had worked. Our youngest son is in boot camp and is to graduate 7/29/11 and our other son is getting married in VA.the next day.

I am a new mom to this site. I am an RN in Nashville Tn. I work at an adult care center and do prn work for the local maximum security prison. I told my son that if I can make it through nursing school with four children, he can make it through bootcamp. He left for great lakes 2 days ago and I miss him terribly

Dona- Hate the different coasts.  My middle boy is in JAX Florida so not too bad on same coast.  My new Navy boy doesn't know where he'll be yet....  Guess they all have to grow up...
