So sorry Shelia, time got away from me. I work for Intracorp and yes I do work out of my home and live near Tampa, FL. Who do you work for and how long have you been doing workers comp?

Is anyone out there a Patient Advocate? I received info on a Patient Advocacy Certification Program. Kind of expensive. Would be worth it if there are jobs out there in this area. Please let me know what you all think of this.

Hi Nurse Navy Mom, I am a CCM Worker's Comp Case Manager and it is something completely different then anything else I have ever done and I am loving it! I am especially thankful that it keeps me so busy that I can't dwell on my son not being here.

Hello to NNMs! Sorry I haven't been on-line lately. We moved & of course I'm still helping care for my Dad, but then I had to have surgery myself. I just don't have time for unpacking or recovery -- I want to be with my Dad for as long as I can. It has been great being out of work right now because I have the time, but I sure hope I'll be able to find something later. There aren't many jobs of any kind in MA including nursing. No one wants to give up what they have for the unknown. I just received an email containing the sonogram picture of my grandchild. So exciting. My son is getting so excited - and over his nervousness about not knowing how to be a daddy!! I'm enjoying watching them and the changes they are making for their new lives as parents. It is so weird to be feeling the sadness of the loss of my Dad and yet the anticipation of a new life in this baby.

I haven't thought about sending him a big envelope to keep his letters in! That would help when all the stuff goes flying! I think my biggest problem with all of this (besides being patient) is loosing control. At least that is what my mother tells me! lol Glad your son is almost finished with A school. Mine is going to be a gunners mate and is really excited. I tried to get him to go into the medical field but he said he didn't like it. We live in the country and he has always liked guns and hunting so I guess this should fit him like a glove. Some days I don't come home in one mental piece. lol But that is the challenge to my job I guess. Hope you have a great day!

Thanks Chief88! I hope he is doing well too! I haven't received a letter or a call yet so I am trying to wait (patiently). But I mail at least a letter a day. Sometimes a card and a letter! lol I now work for a counseling center where I deal with kids that have behavioral problems, do poorly in school, abused or neglected. I love what I do and have spilled my love over to them. They make me smile so much and try so hard to do good for me! I refer to them all as my kids! lol

Hi wow what a great discussion group. I work in the Tampa, Fl area as a worker's compensation case manager. Love it and hope it keeps me very busy so I don't sit around and dwell on my son not being here. He just left for BC on Tuesday, 8/17/10. Miss him terribly.
