Highly recommend The Myrtles at Olde Towne - luxury apartments, and they're right next to NMCP!  There are two complexes, one a high rise and one a group of three story buildings; you definitely want the three story ones.  I can get you photos and their phone # later today.  The apts are nice and amenities great...and you can walk to work!

Like when I look on his LES it says the BAS on the entiltlements portion but not on the deducitons portion. So that means that it would be like he got it then it gotten taken right back out?

Rikki I believe the family separation pay they receive us based on his rank. My husband gets $250 a month & it's split between both checks. Depending on where he is deployed he may get hazard pay. Also keep in mind they are getting BAS taken back out of their check, since they are eating on the ship.

Hey all I was wondering if anyone knew about pay when they are deployed? I know that separation or any sort of pay does not go into effect till they are gone for 31 days....But I was wondering about how much of a difference is it when they are deployed? My husband seemed to think it was about $2000 extra he would be getting a month. Which I am not so sure of that one. Can anyone help me out with this?

Lily you can rent a truck from Uhaul for like $20 or so a day. Sorry we don't have a truck but hopefully that helps.

This is pretty cool!  If you know or are a qualifying veteran or service member, Jos A Bank and the Gary Sinese Foundation have teamed up to provide a free two-piece suit - called the "Uniform for Success" program. Seems they don't carry women's clothing though :( Still, a good thing! Good through Nov 11 2013 (Veteran's Day).   Click on the photo to enlarge -More info:  PR Newswire: Gary Sinese welcomes home troops with new suits

Hi all! My husband and I just pcs'd from WA to Portsmouth and we'll be moving into New Gosport housing in July. I'm looking for suggestions on activities in the area, especially for young toddlers. I heard there's an ASYMCA in the new gosport complex. Is that true? If so, what do they offer and is there a fee? Looking forward to getting to know all of you! Thanks!

I love it here. Very quite. Not enough young people in Pepperwood. Ten mins from the hospital! Totally worth it. We pay 825 a month
