Hi!

My husband is on the Vinson also. I miss him so much. Have you made the move to Cali yet or are you still in Virginia?

Keep in touch!
My husband and I are actually from CA about an hour from SD so we made the move early to start saving money while they are out. Have you made the move yet?
Not yet, but I'm excited about going. I've visited SD before but lived my life on the east coast (NY). This is the first real deployment I have experienced and although I am so proud of all of our sailors, the loneliness can be suffocating. Where did you guys settle?
What do you mean by where do we settle?

I am missing my husband so much ahhh it is driving me INSANE! I too am proud but there isn't really a good way to prepare to miss someone so much.
I hear that

I was wondering where you decided to live out in SD...which area did you settle on...Its crazy trying to figure out where we want to be....
I wish I could offer better information. Our situation is different from most because we're from here and have family here so currently I am living with family so that we can save up money then when he gets here depending on our finances we're looking to buy a house so were going to be living about an hour from base until we make our decision. There are a lot of great areas though in the city or in the burbs when I look for areas I usually use this website called... http://www.familywatchdog.us/ its very helpful and might help you make a decision.
Awesome! Thank you! It's nice to have family. I don't know anyone out there...I'm excited for the adventure though. :)
Of course and yeah I agree having family around is nice. I know a lot of people on the vinson chose the vinson because it was coming to ca so im sure there are a bunch of people, myself including, that wouldnt mind showing you the area once your down here. You will like it here in ca although it is totally a change from va.
Hello!

My husband is a Nuke on the CV. My name is Cantrell and live in Arizona though because I go to the University of Arizona. I can't wait to be out in San Diego, watching their ship come in. What an amazing day that will be! Nice to meet you :-)
Hi Cantrell!

I think I forgot to add my name in my earlier post, I am Courtney. How much longer will you be in AZ? Do you plan on switching schools? I can't wait either to see the ship come in and I sure hope that they are going to be on time as scheduled because I am missing my man! Nice meeting you and if you need to talk or anything just let me know. I am a CA native so if you've never been to SD I might be able to help!
Well I cannot switch schools unless I want to loose a whole lot of credits and three scholarships haha. That would be rough to do. I will graduate with by Bachelor's in May 2011. I can't really transfer because I am a P.E. teacher and the education stuff and P.E. stuff doesn't transfer between states well. But that's okay, I'll get this degree and then move out to SD to live with my husband and get my Master's. Oh I know it better be on time or there will be a lot of angry wives haha! I'm sure missing my man too. Thanks so much by the way! I'll be out in SD on my spring break getting our housing junk set up haha.
Oh wow let me tell you I know where you are coming from with all the school stuff! I just got an AA in health care administration and now am trying to figure out what school I am going to, there is a ton going on with me for school right now haha. OMGOSH I am missing my husband so much! It's crazy! Well when you are in SD feel free to let me know if you need any help! I really want to make more friends who are attached to the Vinson :)
