For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Husband Just left for Bootcamp 4/23/13
Hey guys,My husband just left a few days ago and I am still very new at all of this! Any tips would be appreciated.We never spend time apart so this is a rough time for me and our 1 yr old son.Would love to talk with others who are going through a similar situation!

Hi Mainewife. Im not going through this now but I was there last summer. it was really hard. so since its been a few days, you already received your "im here call" maybe even got your "boy in a box" ? then you will get your info packet with his address also you will get your DEERS forms and insurance forms and then you will be able to go get your military ID from any base :) . I would send lots of pictures to your husband. I send a lot to my husband and he said it helped a lot. also I was staying with my sister and her two little ones so they would colors pictures (scribble ;) ) and I would send them to my husband. I got a letter from my husband every Wednesday ....3 weeks after he got there... and I got a total of 5 phone calls. that is all up to his RDCs though so lets hope he got good ones :) are there any specific questions you have and maybe I can answer them more in detail? what is your husbands job going to be after he graduates basic?

he is going in for submarine machinist mate specialist.I just want to make sure I have all the paper work done and I also wanted to know will I be able to see him while he is in A school or wait till his 2nd school in CT?

he should handle all the paperwork, alls you do is worry about your DEERS :) and insurance if you want to change it, oh an dental. I think he will have to go to sub school and after that you will be able to see him. im sorry I wish I was more helpful my husband is a aviation machinist mate so pretty much the exact opposite as your husband :) but this page isn't very active, you can post your questions on the navy wives, girlfriends, fiancés page on here. they always have ppl on and I bet you can find someone who knows more about subs. :)
