Got his phone on Friday. Got to talk and text to him all weekend. Enjoy being able to communicate with him. Got a short view of him in his camo's. Sending him some goodies this week.

I'm betting he got to start on 10/15.  My son just got his phone on Tues.  We have had a few random text but he has been too busy to talk.  He just texted me a picture wearing his white uniform!

Laurie, Wow if your son's PIR was 10-5 and he was on hold I wonder what happened to the MA's who got there on 10-13 as my sailor did. He hasn't rec. his cell that I sent him so I don't know too much but have seen others that got there the same time as he did seem to have a job already. Hopefully I will hear from him sometime friday.

My son's PIR was 10/5.  He left for San Antonio the next day but has been on "hold" until starting A school today (10/15).  He says he'll be finished 11/30.  Too bad not for Thanksgiving!  Anyone have an idea of when their first weekend pass will be or if they have time off for Thanksgiving.  We are lucky that he is in Texas since we live here!

Ru Ru, my son left Saturday so we were only able to spend Friday with him...we didn't go to the airport but I know some parents did.

BP When did your son leave for A school after PIR just wondering how much time I will have with my daughter

Wow...this page seems like a ghost town! No activity since 2011 so not sure if anyone is even following this. My son had his PIR today and leaves tomorrow for A school. Any words of advice? Thanks!

Pinkcubby - I'm sorry, for some reason my previous post was erased or something, 'cause I replied a couple of days ago!
Anyway, (I'll try again & cross my fingers!) I don't know the exact date yet, only that it's closer to Thanksgiving than to Friday!
His class had too many guys for them all to go together. He chose to hold back a week so that another guy could graduate on time, because his family had already paid to come out/made reservations. (And Michael is coming home for 2 weeks after graduation anyway...)

But as soon as I'm positive, I'll be sure to post and ask if anyone knows anyone who's going to be there!

And that was"Gemini speak" for no, not Friday! *looking down shamefullly* lol!! Apologies, but I can't speak in less than 3 paragraphs... :-)
