Divontes Mom, I was visiting my son in Norfolk when there were tornado warnings. No wind, no anything..it was a great weekend
Allie1928 My son will be finishing up training on his second plane in Norfolk mid May and then he is off to CA. He is excited, traveling across the country on a motorcycle. Keeps me on my knees praying :)
Waiting to class up is normal! Don't worry they take care of our Sailors during weather threats and will evacuate their base if needed. Found this out while my son was in Florida. You can follow their base on Facebook if you are on there. They'll give updates on events and what's going on around base. I actually told my son there was a tornado watch in Norfolk the other day before he knew. But, he's a home body, so he didn't know there were high winds or hail because he hadn't left his barracks that day.
My Sailor's PIR was 04-04-14 and he seems stuck in Meridian MS waiting to class up. I feel a little tender since tornado season is starting up but he said he has received training on what to do.
