Hi RTCsmominnyc, it's always good to connect with Navy Moms. I'm all the way in Suffolk near Port Jefferson. My son went in Feb 2014 and then went to Meridian for A school. Soon after, he went to California where we able to visit hm. Right now he's away on a long deployment but I have my Navy moms to lean back to and laugh with. I don't think there's a Facebook page for New York moms but there's so many, who's to say for sure.

Hi encourager!

I also live on LI..but in Queens County. Where are you at? Is your son/daughter/loved one in bootcamp now? Or have they been serving a while already?

Thanks for getting in touch. Is there a FB page for NY moms?

I do know about the Blue star Moms Chapter for Long Island. I probably would enjoy their support. But New York Moms, the reality is that I thank God everyday that my son ended up in the Navy versus the Marines or Army. I am aware of the possibility of danger in any branch of military but when somebody says that there child ended up in the Army, I feel like I have to battle not to gasp because that would be horrible. It's a stupid attitude but very strong in my heart. Sounds pretty bad, right?

encourager do you have a Blue Star Mothers Chapter near you? If you do, you can meet other Military & possibly Navy Moms in person each month. Right now dues are only $20/year. But they will be raised to $30 8/31. You can go on to www.BlueStarMothers.org to see if there's a chapter near you. You can also sign up online & they will send your information to the nearest chapter.
