Hello Joyce and Invisible - I wouldnt miss PIR for anything. Queens and LI we are neighboors. Im in Brooklyn.

Joyce, like you I read and ask questions then I tell my son what I found out and he say mom stop your making yourself crazy...ha ha.
Wow thats awesome for your son so glad he likes the Navy...Thats my biggest fear what if my boy doesent like it :) Nothing I can do.

Im guessing shore duty means he dosent go on ships (stupid question) What

Invisible - I agree its gets overwhelming but, we need to know. right! Good luck to your son! What did he sign for?

My son signed for 6yrs active and 2 reserve. His contact is for SWCC. He should be in Corondo CA for 24 months A school.

It's good to see some action here.  I'm also from Queens and now live on the Island.  My son leaves for bc on Sept. 15th so I, too, will be in GL in the winter.  I'm trying to learn so much here that sometimes it's just overwhelming.  I wouldn't miss PIR for the world.  Hope you guys have a wonderful day!

sboli: the navy was the best thing he ever did with his life. He has found direction and has really grown up. We are from Queens, N.Y. You will see how fast time goes. So you will be going to Chicago in the middle of winter for graduation. Very cold and windy but dont miss the graduation if you can. It is very emotional. Read up on all you can. I always had more information in the begining then he did, just from the information on Navy moms

Nice Joyce. Does Chris like the Navy? Where are you from Joyce. We live in NYC
Comment by joyce on June 11, 2011 at 8:13pm
sboli: Chris enlisted in July 2009 but did not leave for BC until Feb 2010 the navy was filled at 110% that is why there was a delay. After boot camp he was in Florida until Nov 2010 Then in Mississippi untill may of this year now he will be in Va for 3 years. He is shore duty.

sboli: Chris is stationed in Norfolk been there since May. He seems to like his job and has plenty of time off to go to Virginia beach and hang out. Best of both worlds
