While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Im on this website supporting my boyfriend. He graduated from bootcamp 3/18 and is currently in great lakes for A school to become a Hospital Corpsman....anyone else here have a Hospital Corpsman??

Invisible, joyce is right. The advantage of being on this site while your son is a depper will provide you with so much information and YOU will know more than your depper by the time he is off to BC. Hang in there. You will be fine. I was there last year. My son was the first in the military. I signed him in because he was still underage. He left for BC when he was 17 and turned 18 two weeks before PIR. As harsh as BC sounds, my son did like it once he got used to it. He met some great friends along the way.

Wow Im nervous, proud and happy so my emotions are all over the place. And I will miss him terribly. I learned alot from this site already. Joseph will be 21 in Nov. So before he leaves he have a lot to celebrate - his birthday, Thanksgiving, Good luck party & Christmas all before End of Nov. How old is your son. Do you think you'll make the graduation?

I think I knew more then he did about what was going to happen at BC. My son was the first to go into the navy as well. How old is your son. Mine was 21 when he left He had tried college but it just wasnt for him

I'm still having a hard time dealing with this whole thing. I cry alot and that's so unlike me. I'm just going to really miss him! I've joined the other sites here too - DEPERS, Bootcamp, IT School, and a few others I think. There's such a wealth of information here it's wonderful. I'm really happy to see others here from NY. Go Brooklyn!!!

Invisible: its not that bad. Once you get through boot camp you will be able to speak to him very often. I speak to my son atleast 3x a week. He has been home twice in the last year. I know that sounds long but time goes by so fast..Try to get to boot camp graduation its great.
