Hi Everyone,
My son, James, has been given the awesome opportunity to attend the Ceremony on Saturday by his Blue and Gold Officer (he has applied to the Academy and received an LOA a couple of weeks ago). He is so excited. Unfortunately, only he was invited so I am hoping he takes loads of pictures to share.

Just posted a news article in the Forums about a Syracuse Navy pilot who will be flying over the World Series tonight. Thought some of you might be interested!

Hey ladies! Just posted a blog about the commissioning of the USS New York that might be of interest. There are tours that are open to the public that week as well :) http://www.navyformoms.com/profiles/blogs/public-visitation-for-future

Hey Mabel my son made it safely to Hawaii. The flight was long but he got there half hour early. He did sound tired. Said the barracks are not so bad. Thanks for all the support.

Hey guys my boy is on his way to Hawaii. It sure was hard to say goodbye at the airport. Couldn't stop crying. His dad held up pretty good. Will feel better once he lands and calls us. God I miss him so much already.

I'm so glad for you. What ship or sub is your son on. Also what is your sons rate. My son is an ET/COM. He will be on the USS Cheyenne when he gets to Pearl.

Thanks Mabel. I am thinking positive. Just at times that feeling comes over me and I can't shake it for a while. My husband and I are not sure when we plan on going out to Hawaii to visit but that will be in the works for next year if our son is not out to sea. I'm happy you were able to spend some time with your son. :)

Well 9 more days before my boy leaves to his new base at Pearl Harbor, Hi. His father and I are so happy and proud of him. But the closer his date comes I notice I'm starting to get a little depress. He will be so far from home. He was only 2 hours away before when he was in Groton, Ct. I am looking forward to his departure but at the same time not. Guess this is a normal feeling but I hate it. Well I guess I will have to make plans on visiting him in Hawaii. Just had to get this off my chest.
