OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

There was a small group of NMCB 40 that were left behind in California. Your son will probably be joining the group there. There is usually additional training that they have to go through prior to being deployed.

Thanks for replying DebBee40. We were wondering if they would have him deploy straight out of combat school. His mentor contacted him and kind of lead our son to believe that they deploy him. I guess we will wait and see. Thanks again.

Hi, my son just got out of combat school and got his orders to NMCB40. Yes, they deployed him about a week after he got there. I was kind of set back by that but the best that I can do is send him LOTS of boxes =-)

Hi Lori, my son completed combat training in October and is now stationed in CA as well, he did join them on deployment, they are expected back in the early spring. Did you son go through combat training? It depends he may or may not deploy they really dont tell them much until they are in CA. Hope this helps. Jackie

Thanks for your reply. Our son leaves Friday for combat training and we assume after that he will immediately go to CA. Don't know if he will get any leave around the holidays. Hope all is well with your son. How has the Afghanistan experience been for him? We have a son-in-law that has been to Iraq with the army on two different deployments but have no understanding of the realities of Afghanistan other than what we read. Needless to say we are apprehensive.

When I talked with my son he said there were a few that were coming to cal. and he was told they would most likley NOT deploy. But then again he was told he would NOT deploy as well. It took him about 9 days to get there. Talked to him over the weekend and he sounds very Jet Lagged and the time change had him a little off to. Hang in there.

Our son's liaison is telling him he will deploy in January to finish out the deployment. What is the deployment scheduled end date?
