DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

JM: Do they have DSL & cable? How much for utilities?

Martha: I hope my son isn't thinking about $800 a month for off base living in Norfolk! I agree, what a waste!

ALL family members can join NFCU using your Sailor's access number. And once YOU are a member you can give your access number to extended family members. Our whole (and I mean whole) family has taken advantage of NFCU.

Have you all taken advantage of Navy Federal Credit Union?

Nancy: My son is an E-4. Does that effect his off base housing situation?
Hubby was in the Army 28 years ago but I don't remember how off base housing worked.

Not to long ago, the Norfolk base issued a warning to the Norfolk Sailors about "shady" car dealers near the base. I can't remember if they named specific car dealers. I think it was in October b/c Matt hadn't deployed yet.

Darla: I just got off the phone with a Navy Mom near Bismarch, ND and she said they have 91 inches of snow on the ground!

I just bought a new car and I'm selling giving my old car to Matt. I'm going to keep it registered in Arizona, because this is his permanent address. He'll also keep his AZ driver's license. And he'll file his state taxes here also. I renewed the tags on the old car for 3 years so he won't have to worry about registration for a while. And I transferred the title into his name, as the base requires the Sailors name to be on the title in order to get a base pass.

Matt is so picky about his food, he wouldn't care if there was free food on the ship! All he talks about right now is coming home and BBQing.....he'll be here in sometime in April for 2 1/2 weeks.

Let me know if any of you are going to be in Norfolk around March 30th....

Well, JB, I think winter missed both of us. Hardly any of my plants even froze this winter!

Willette: I already signed you and your hubby up for the bowling league...you gotta move here now.....lol, lol

I do understand your hubby's concerns. I won't be leaving a job either in this economy.....I wake up and wonder what in the world is going to happen to our economy TODAY????
