Neat, interesting photo's, and yet....makes a mom's heart skip a few beats! Makes me wonder sometimes what these people out there are even thinking! Well, guess it shows that they aren't!

(Matt, Sam & Sam's friend, Sept 2007)

JM - My nephew is on the Mobile Bay! They just got back from the Gulf in October. Sammie is a GM and has been in for 4 years. I think he's getting out this June.
When Matt entered the DEP program, we drove to SD and Sam gave us a tour of the Mobile Bay - it was Fleet Week. Really gave Matt a chance to see what he was in for.....

Cruiser. It was attached to the Iwo Jima Strike Group and then the Navy made it part of that new group to fight the pirates.

Annette:
We can't disclose ship movement (such as arrival dates) until the Navy officially releases that information. Our Sailors on the Iwo Jima are only allowed to tell their loved one's of their arrival over the phone (it's a secure line, according to the Navy). USUALLY the Navy discloses it a day or two ahead of time. Do you have a Sailor on the Iwo Jima? :)
