For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

RED CROSS CONTACT INFO:

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Comment by abuon18 on April 14, 2014 at 12:03pm: Tracy, I'm in San Diego & my husband's FRG is in Norfolk so I understand. His deployment for extended with less than a month to go so I just went through this. You will have to figured out a code, for example my FRG recommends selecting a date that is special to you and going off that for example "homecoming is now 2 months and 13 days before my little brothers birthday".

My question is if there would happen to be a change in the date, how do we get that information from my son when mail takes several weeks?

Comment by abuon18 on April 14, 2014 at 11:58am: CO-Twin SalorsMom, in the event of an extension they are not allowed to provide the new date via email or phone, just the news that there has been an extension. If there is an extension you need to get the new date from your Sailor if you're unable to attend the FRG meetings to hear it in person. Then as it gets closer & the information becomes released publicly (usually about a week in advance) the ombudsman & FRG are able to send that informati

Comment by abuon18 on April 14, 2014 at 11:41am: Tracy, make sure your son adds you to the ombudsman & FRG mailing lists. They will send out an official email from the Captain. It won't have the new date but it will let you know homecoming has been changed and then you will have to get the new date from your son.

If they change a date with short notice and mail takes several weeks, how do you know since nothing can be discussed via email or phone? This is my son's first deployment, so I'm yet to figure it all out.
