Hello NC Moms. My son left October 3rd, it has been learning experience to say the least. He tells me his graduation will most likely be the day before Thanksgiving and he will be boarding a flight 45 minutes after graduation. I am so confused, do we make this trip, and try to find a place to stay, the day BEFORE thanksgiving?

Thanks for the help! I have been so overwhelmed with this. I have been told by so many that the date COULD change. My son says, MOM its ok, I graduate the busiest Travel day of the year! That is my worry! How to make plans, when It COULD change, and getting a room this particular block of time!
My son just graduated in August from boot camp and we flew up. I was so thankful we did. We staryed Thursday,Friday and flew out Satruday afternoon. It was so wonderful. I am so glad we did it. I was so proud of him and he was so glad we were there. It is going to be hard for you being right at Thanksgiving but look at it this was, you will get to kind of celebrate Thanksgiving as well as his graduation. Good luck with whatever you choose. But I know our trip was so worth it!!!! Barbara Hayes
Hey Sandy from NC here. When my son graduated in 06 I was going to drive up with one of his friends but she couldnt go because she got sick. I ended up flying. I got a room at RED CARPET INN at almost the last minute. It is a mile from the base and enterise car rental is just out the back door. I took the shuttle bus to and from the airport. Enterprise charges a fee to return their cars to the airport so I have heard. But you would need to check that out. I didnt have a site like this to get info from or I would probably been able to get the navy housing instead.
Hello all, I booked a room at the Navy Lodge, so our plans for now are a go. Of course SETH says, MOM you really should think about NOT coming, afterall you we wont get to see each other long! So we will be on the road with all the Turkey travelers!

Riene, you and your family are strongly in my prayers! Keep us posted!
i changed mine from the red carpet inn.. i heard it was a dump and i got in at the navy lodge also!
My thoughts are with you. My son is graduating boot camp November 25 too and information is sparse as to his schedule. This is just going to be a 'by the moment' Thanksgiving I figure.
