I found these new members who have joined Navy For Moms recently. They are all in the Sac area. Can some of you please each take on or two names and post a comment on their page inviting them to join this group (with a link) and let them know about our upcoming meet and greet?

Hi, Paymaster. I'm here. I check in on a regular basis and read everyone's comings and goings, but I haven't had much to add lately. I guess I've had too much to add really. My sailor decided to get married at the courthouse in GL last weekend. She just got engaged at PIR in June, so this was pretty quick work. They've known each other for years and I expected it to happen, but not quit so soon, and not without MOM being able to be there. It was very sweet, though, and I got to listen in on speakerphone. The judge was wonderful and I've already gotten a ton of pictures. She's clicking along in ATT school. Got nominated for best of the best and had her inspection this morning, but I haven't heard anything more about that. Quite honestly, it's hard to keep up with everything. I'm happy to hear that everyone here seems to be doing well, is surviving the heat, and getting by. I'm sorry I missed the meet and greet recently in Roseville. It would have been wonderful to meet more of you, but it just wasn't in the cards with family responsibilities. How you manage to keep up and make all of those beautiful quilts, I do not know.

I'm trying to figure out when they might have standdown at GL for Christmas, so I can arrange to go see my girl. I don't think she'll be able to come home. She's trying to save all of her leave for the timebeing, hoping we can plan a real wedding, wedding ceremony here in California some time next year.

Trekkie Dad....Do you think your lovely wife would answer a gardening question for me and my neighbor?

Hi, I just have to share this. I was checking my son's Facebook page and he'd posted: "Another do nothing weekend, thank God it's Monday." I responded, "That's something you don't hear very often." hahaha

SO, Happy Monday everyone!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Jody :-}
Great news Bea - I'm tired from our retreat.

I spent the last day with five young women (the North Cal Retreat for Young Wives, Fiancees and Girlfriends). Our future is in good hands. I thought being an "elder" mom (since I am old enough to be a mom to some of our Navy moms), I would have pearls of wisdom to pass on. Wrong. I learned from these young gals the meaning of perseverance, dedication, tolerance, focusing on goals, money management & friendship. I came away feeling if the future of our country is in the hands of these young women and their sailors, we will be OK. More than OK.
