OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

My daughter got a letter too and she cried because he stated how hard OCS was. This is her little (6'4') baby brother. The one she protected. We talked about decisions and choices and how hers were so different than his. I am so proud of his decision, not that I like what the whole process is like. I know he is going to become more of the person he already is.

LZ27, OCS prepares them for what is ahead. Yes, I gave up trying to explain to people outside the community. I remembered one lady said, "Why would he want to go through all that?" I said, "To serve his country." I can tell by her look that she thought I was not a very good mother - I didn't force him to go to graduate school or something - allowing him to go so far away from home. I wanted to shout. "HE IS A GROWN MAN. HE KNOWS WHAT HE WANTS TO DO!" The next day I joined N4M.

Finally!! I finally got a letter from my son. I can't imagine signing up for something so harsh; however, I know he will come out the other end a great man. They have already moved the sand pit (I believe it's called the "Rose Garden" ) indoors more than once and then of course back outdoors! I'm glad to have you ladies here to just be, because nobody else would understand. Thanks for your ear and I hope to meet some of you soon...LZ
