Good afternoon, All. I am sorry I haven't been on in a while. Busy, busy, busy last few weeks getting ready to go back to Chicago for my daughter's PIR on Friday June 4th. She is now a sailor! She will be moving across the street some time this week to start her next journey. She told me while we were out there that she had seen her orders, and she got FC, which is what she was hoping for. She is participating today in a blood drive and many other things to keep her busy, so I'm not sure if she's moving today or not, but soon! I can't wait until I get her address so I can send her her phone and computer. There were many tears shed and many damp smiles while at graduation. It was a very moving ceremony. I'm back at work and feeling like I'm in an alternate universe, but I'll come down to earth soon. Thank you all for all of the great information on here, and I'm sure I'll be back to ask more questions as time goes on. Alison

Hi Nor. Cal. Moms and Dads,
Web-cammed w/ Chrissy, plans changed. I'm learning to role w/ the punches. She has some paper work to take care of June 23rd, so won't know about 4th of July leave until after that. Web-camming with her son is bittersweet he loves it, but he won't say bye-bye when she has to go. Then he cries when she gets off. Then he Pointed to the ceiling and said "Mama Navy" . Now I want to cry.

Hi Ladies,
I've had a really busy last couple of months. Just talked to my son/sailor who is switching from Subs to Surface and preparing for transfer from Groton to GL. I have few details, but he did say he'll be getting 10 day leave soon and heading home for a visit...his first since BC in August. I'm SOOO looking forward to that. I look forward to making it to M&G's. Can't make June 26th, hope to make July. I'll be looking for details.

LZ27, having gone through what you are going through - hang in there - except Navy 4 Moms didn't exist when my son went through OCS. There were no support groups. For months, we had the cell phone and regular phone next to the bed. I have to volume turned up to the max (it's pretty obnoxious) because we don't want to miss that call. By the way, sometimes they borrow cell phones from each other - so if you get a call from a strange number, answer it, it could be him.

Susan: what a story.

Greetings to every else.

The meet and greet in Healdsburg was fantastic - many courses - wine from a private collection - served on engraved Navy glasses - lovely host and hostess and of course, wonderful Navy families. It was a real treat.

Hi NoCal Moms, thank you NevadaSierra for sharing that wonderful letter of thanks. Blue Star moms ROCK!

I hesitate to say I'll attend a M&G b/c the last 2 times I've had to cancel. June to packed for me, but I would love to attend something in July. (I'm in Sac)

Have a great week everyone!

Monica...Just let us know where you want us to be on the 10th of July and we will show up.

I have set up several of these M/G. Drop me a line if you need anything or just have questions.

Linda, hope your son has a successful RIMPAC tour. The Reagan took the Nimitz place in that RIMPAC, my son is on the Nimitz, but they are hoping to get underway later this month. I'm going to try and attend the July M/G in Roseville, it'd be fun, have to double check my calendar. Have a great day everyone, hope your sailors are well.
