You bet, Sierranevada. If I get an invitation to go out with the Navy Mom, and I told my sweetheart I'm going! You just let us know where and when, and I'll be there with bells on!

SierraNevada...We missed you not being there. We three decided we liked getting together and want to do it again soon. Since you couldn't make it this last time, we will leave it up to you to pick a day next month when you can get out and you can pick the place to meet.

Everyone is welcome to come along!

So just pick your day and we will work it out!

Yes, 14 days is usually the sweet spot. Two-weeks advance purchase, and hope that there are still seats available. Been look at departing from Sacramento, Reno, and San Francisco. Honestly, it's cheaper to fly from Reno than it is Sacramento. Stupid but true. Oh, well, I'll take a little side trip to the casinos maybe the night before we fly out and try my luck. Who knows, but I cannot wait to see my beautiful daughter again.

Yes, I am going to wait until it's closer to PIR date before I book my and my other daughter's tickets to fly back to PIR. I am looking for that sweet spot where the tickets are still at a good price, and I'm fairly certain that PIR will go through as planned. Booking hotel early, though, since I can change that with no penalty. Also rental car. I'm going to find the link on here, Paymaster, where you told me to look for information on hotels, etc., for PIR. Haven't found it yet, but I'm on the hunt.

I waited till closer to PIR to book my tickets, Chrissy's date changed because of her medical problem, so glad I waited. But then still had to pay $150 to change my return flight cause she wanted me to stay later on Sunday. Still I would say like the Credit card ad; tickets = $$$$, seeing your child's PIR = priceless

tallmama, did you read Alanna's comment on the SF Bay site. She got tickets, the date for PIR was changed, she paid a big fee to change tickets - recommend getting refundable at higher $.

Good morning, NevadaSierra. Yes, Lincoln was fun. It was nice to meet other Navy Moms. So many wonderful insights into what life has in store for my daughter and the rest of the family as she goes on this wonderful new adventure! It's nice to know that I have this group of supportive "mom" to help me through the process. I found out PIR date for my daughter, and now I have to search for cheap airline flights, hotels, car rentals, etc. Oh, ain't life grand!! Congratulations are in order for you and your in laws on the many years of married life. I can't say that I was successful in that regard, but I congratulate all of you who have been.
