I saw the contract she signed when she was a depper, which just said E-3 and AECF -- unless I just didn't see the FC or ET part. I didn't get to see the final, final contract which she signed on Tuesday before she shipped out on Wednesday from San Diego. Glad to hear that the rivalry is good natured and for keeping spirits up. I can appreciate a friendly rivalry. I just need to find out which side I'm supposed to be rootin' for! Hahahaha. You take care, Vicky, and have a fabulous day.

Oh Tallmama, It should say in her contract. I'm in the same boat as you. Since Chrissy is older, I didn't read her contract. The rivalry on the other group is just in fun. We all support each other on this site. Sometimes it is better to laugh, it relieves the stress.
We have a lot of laughs on the SF Bay area group. My friends on this site have become some of my best friends. No one knows what you are going thru like another Navy Mom. Take care, Vicky

Good to know, Vickyrun. Maybe SHE knows and I don't know, which is distinctly possible. I'm sure both jobs are equally challenging, although on the other group forum there seems to be a bit of a rivalry between FCs and ETs. Not sure where that comes from.

Oh, Chrissy knew she was FC before she left for the Navy. Others don't find out untill the end of BC.

Yes, Linda, I got the call last night at about 6:00 p.m. right about when I was walking into class. I was thankful I had somewhere to be and other responsibilities, because I was able to keep it together. Concentrated in class for three hours, and then at 9:00 p.m. called my other daughter and chatted for a half an hour. Kept my mind occupied. My other daughter hates talking on the phone -- I know it's hard to believe -- but she promised to be patient with mom and talk to me more often. Hahahah. Now it's just the wait for the box and the form letter with her address in it. I have already started the letter writing, so she'll have a lot of mail coming to her!

Vickyrun, when did Chrissy -- that is your daughter, right -- find out whether she would be ET or FC?

Whoops, sorry, I had a typo in one of my posts. Yes, AECF and I don't know if my daughter will be FC or ET at this point. Whatever they assign her to do, I'm sure she'll give it her all. Thanks, Vickyrun, for the invite to the M&G. I have to talk to the boyfriend and find out what's on our schedule. I sure would love to meet some of the families in the area so they can help guide me throug this experience.

AECF = Advanced Electronics Computer Field. My sailor is AECF-FC, she learning compter progarms that fire the weapons off the ship. She is one tough, strong, smart woman. I'm very proud of her.

I will just hope for the very best, and have confidence that everything will work out. She's committed herself 100% to this new adventure, and I am supporting her to the best of my ability. Yvette has always been an academic overachiever, very tough on herself, so when I write to her, I will remind her to just take one step at a time and not to get discouraged should she not do well on one test. She can work harder and improve her performance. Oh, Vicky, you've been a huge help!
