Oh, no don't panic. I'm sorry. It is just computer programs they have to learn in AECF. For security reasons, she can't tell me anything about them, just that it has been harder then any other one she has learned. They have to get a 75 or better to pass. Chrissy would get below that, but they let her retake the test if they pass the 2nd time it is OK. Chrissy pushes herself very hard. She gets very happy when she does well, but also feels bad if she doesn't. That is why she likes the leadership jobs, she feels it is a vote of confidence. She got Asst. duty section leader on her "ship". She is thriving in the Navy, I believe it was the right choice for her.

Oh, no, now you've got me scared again. I knew that the AECR FC rate was very hard and that's what she thinks she'll be doing. She's always been a great student and scored very well on the ASVAB, but she's been going to nursing school -- nothing to so with electronics, etc. She's very good with computers and math, physics, chemistry, etc., but -- oh, I'm not going to panic -- I am not going to panic -- I am not going to panic. I know "the box" is going to be a hard day. I am also a single parent. I have another daughter who is 21, and I've raised them pretty much by myself since they were babies. I don't have any grandbabies yet. I keep telling them I have to be over 50 -- and that time is approaching wayyyyyy too fast.

I can see you know! Nice pic Tallmama. Yes, was on hold and asked for leave but didn't get it. Yes, she as a degree from ITT, and she scored an 87 on her Asvad, her rate is AECF-FC. 2nd hardest A school after Nukes. She is determined to succeed and I am very proud of her. It is hard not being able to talk to them in BC. Sometimes they can call u on Sundays but if you miss the call, you can't call them back! The fun part is you can relearn the art of putting pen to paper and write them snail mail letters! Be prepared for when you get "the box", it is a tearjerker. I was the same way, she been out of these many years, was married, had a baby and divorced. I'm not gonna cry when that box, comes, it came, I cried.

Hi, Linda. My daughter just turned 23 a few weeks ago! She was living in San Diego before she left, but she had come home for a quick three-day visit before she shipped out this week. I am so glad I found this site, too. I was looking at the Navy website, and it had a link to here, and I've been devouring information since. I hope it's okay to put my and my daughter's picture here, although she'll hate this one!

Hi, Linda. Yes, it does look like we're neighbors. I think of Placerville as my home town, even though I don't live there anymore! Yes, my daughter just arrived in BC. I am awaiting her final "I am here" phone call. She called me from the airport several times while she's been waiting to get on the bus, but she said she doesn't want to talk anymore 'cause she's afraid she's going to start crying. I'm afraid I'll start crying too, so I'll just wait for that two-second phone call later! Breaks my heart. I don't know why we're both so emotional. She went away to college when she was 18 and that was years ago. She hasn't lived at home since, but this not being able to TALK to her is going to drive me nuts.

Vickyrun, did you say Chrissy isn't coming home? I think I read on one of the other groups where you said Chrissy gets to go back into A school! That is so fabulous. So she will be able to complete her training. I would think that since she's been there and progressing, that they would give her the opportunity to continue on. She sounds like a very bright young woman, with the training from I think you said ITT tech, so I'm sure she'll get through this.

Hi, Vickyrun! I'm here now. I just got a call from Yvette. She's waiting at the USO to get on the bus to go to camp. She started to cry. Gosh, I don't know if my heart can take this. We as moms are programmed to fix, protect, nurture, but this is something she has to do all on her own. Ugh.

No, I haven't found a job, yet. I just had a interview. I'm waiting to see if he calls me back for a 2nd interview. Linda, that is wonderful news! I wish him all the success in his training to become a Seal. Chrissy will be coming with me to the M&G on April 10th in the Bay area. I hope you all can come! ~ Vicky
