Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Mike's mom.....When my son was deployed I sent him instant salsa in a can, we included canned chopped tomato's in the package. You can find the the instant salsa on line.

We use to include anything that was individually wrapped trail mix, snacks etc. It just made it easier to store and to share.

Noe - Thanks it has been crazy just sent out two packages and I am getting another ready ,,,,any suggestions on what to put in his box ? I feel like I keep putting the same thing ... cookies, hot chocolate mix, chips ( he did say he wanted some salsa ) , gum, he doesn't need socks so any ideas ?

My son called me this morning !!!!! Best Christmas Present EVER !!! Mike said he will be home in June ! It's been 2 1/2 months now that he's been in Afghanistan and six more to go ....
Glad to see everyone had a Merry Christmas with their families

Janis- welcome ! This a great site I am new to it too, I'm not new to Navy just this site and I love it .
Everyone has beeo have soooo lucky to have their sailor home with them mine is deployed and won't be home till July :( I know you all know how lucky you are...

Thanks for the welcome. My daughter is flying back to VA tomorrow morning. She's on the Ike. Right now she's out with friends, she said she won't be out too late. Her friend who has been in the Navy for a year came home too this week and they have not been separated.

Praying for all our Sailors safe travels.
