Lord God, we can't physically hold Nancy and her family in our arms, but we ask that you put your loving ones around her, her son and the other family who is suffering because of this horrible loss. We don't understand....there is nothing to do that can fix it, but you know what they need. i ask that you make your presence known, be very real to this family in the days to come. Help them to do the work of grieving in its time, and help us, Nancy's online friends, to do whatever we can to help. Bring the people into their lives who will provide what they need, and most of all, in its time, bring them your peace.

Nancy, there are no moderators here - just supporters. Four students from Gunn High step in front of a train in the last 12 months. Anytime someone that young takes his own life, a little part of us as a humanity dies. You have our prayers - if there is anything else ... you may need?

When you check in with his recruiter, ask about having your friends getting him off base for Thanksgiving dinner (maybe another homesick recruit?). THE PICTURES!!!!

Susan,
Thank you so much. John and I will definitely try to make it. This year, we had three invitations for the same date. :0 :P :(

Hi all:
I've been reading - even while I've been busy. You are one very busy group! YEA. Bea, please put me down for 9-18. I am praying that it will be the day of the Constitution Day parade. Our community (Nevada City) have it every year. We were invited to walk with the Blue Star mom's this year. I would really like to see that happen it is a fun parade, and IF we can walk down the street it will give us a great chance to be 'visible' for the Navy families in this community.
My next question - is who is creative and can make up a flyer that we can distribute/post at the local recruiter's office (IF we have permission). Any information out there? Are there any guidelines about what we can share/give to the local recruiter's to give to families?
Things have been busy - even with the job market somewhere else. I spent a week at Lincoln at ClayM training. It was very interesting, and now I have lots of study to do. Beautiful church.
Our sailor and his family are to be here sometime within the next couple of weeks to move stuff. We will see - I am PRAYING that I will get to see my precious grandgirl (she will be one in December). We may be able to help them, by driving the stuff back to WA. That could be a fun 'mini-vacation' for us.
No news on the court case except that:"Local 39 has to take the Arbitration to court in order to make the NC Courts agree to arbitration. This will be a long process. However, we will prevail. " Which sounds VERY good. I am the only one from the lay off that had time in (vested) - so if re-instatement is possible it would be a great blessing.
Just in case we do get to go to WA - I pray that each of you has an awesome THANKSGIVING. For those whose sailor's will be working - our sailor's favorite meal is thanksgiving - we used to have it lots of times during the year. Have it when he comes home - it has become a tradtional dinner for his homecoming. In the time that he has been in (7 yrs) we have been able to share many thanksgivings (not one on the 'official' day). Gather friends, and check here if you need a boost.
My angel blessings to each of you, ~Susan
