Ah Rvogt, now I'm crying just remembering that day when B left. It'll be a bumpy ride for a while sweetie, I won't lie to you, but you'll get through it and it will get better. We've all been there.

Monica, I'm planning a big "fatten up the boy" time at thanksgiving. Mine is 6'2" and last weighed, like 164. I think that's what I weighed when I had him!

Monica, you are too funny! Hi friends, I havn't been on for a while but I'm really looking forward to getting together next month in the coming ones.

All I can say Rvogt is that we are all here for you. It IS hard no one really understands except other moms. I love the camp/college thing! I miss my son ssssooooo much! (Of course he's just away at camp, right? sniff sniff)

Thanks, Peg & Naomi. I have not heard from Jaye Lynn. I am starting to worry, just a little. Cindy & Margie, can you get in touch with her?
Rvogt, what time are you dropping your son off at Moffetf? I am about 10 minutes away, on your way to 280 - if you want to stop by for a glass or wine or beer (sorry, no martini) - except around 10 am - I have a training session for one hour.

Wow, a few days away and I missed alot. Had to catch up!
Bea I would be willing to host a M&G here in Santa Clara on Feb 6
if it is still open.

Hi everyone,
The calendar will be available in PDF and Excel formats. For my personal version, I add birthdays, anniversaries, Chinese New Year, etc. etc. Here
Here are the two files with up-to-date changes as of NOV 15. I'll post another one when we have more volunteers for organizing/hosting lined up - in 10-12 days. As the year progresses, updated versions will be posted under the above discussion.

Congratulations to mich and Kathy (welcome too) with Dec 4 PIR.
JAYE LYNN, helloooo. Where are you?
Susan, August works better for me but go with the month with the most responses. We can always change the dates, since it's so far in advance.

Hi Kathy,
Congrats on your PIR - look forward to meeting you on the 12th (hoping I can make it).

Hi Bea,
All that calendar work, and a home listing too! Oh, excuse me, Monica did correct me and I must give that credit to Etta! You have done incredible work to organize our group and I actually love the format of the calendar you've created. I appreciate your willingness to jump in and put some organization around our activity for 2010, it's going to make for a fantastic year!

I did post the December 6th Meet and Greet in N4M Events and hope most of you will be able to come by. If it's a long drive, maybe the M&G could be a stop home from an overnight trip to Tahoe for the weekend? Just some friendly travel alternatives!

Hi Mich and thanks for the note about not making it -- not much competition when compared with PIR! I hope to make it on the 12th and hope to meet you there -- with pictures to share, right?

My target was to have a "close to final" version of the calendar and add the pdf files under the Summary of Northern California Events by the first week of Dec. The wall calendar can be printed on 8.5x14 paper. Please post alternative formats to the calendar below, if you have one. We don't have to use my format at all. Once we have enough dates set, I will ask a few volunteers to proof read for me. I am terrible at that.
The dates are somewhat fluid. For example, if someone wants to host the Nov MG on the 13 instead of the 14, that's great. It can be changed to a weekday as well (eg. Sept 9 Wed at Spaghetti Factory.
The key is to meet each other and have fun, as Heloisa notes above - ANYWHERE, ANY TIME AND FOR ANY REASON.

1. On Nov 11 - I sent a pm to 37 of the members (ones who have been around for awhile) asking for volunteers for organizers/hosts for next years Meet & Greets.
2. On Nov 11 - Lorilab and Katherine Reite responded affirmatively, Sharon offered to team up & make food.
3. On Nov 12 - Cindy Lou responded yes, Vernita yes but needed to check calendar. Jaye Lynn confirmed for Dec 12. Cindy and Vickie teamed up to do Dec 6.
4. On Nov 13 - I sent out two pdf files with above updates. Cindy added the MG to the N4M Events Calendar. I sent a message to Jaye Lynn to add Event once she decides on final details (time? lunch? potluck? snack?). As always, I offered to add event, if she had a problem doing it.
5. On Nov 14 - Noe responded yes.
6. On Nov 15 (that's today) - I posted a jpg image of the tentative MASTER 2010 CALENDAR.

This is a volunteer group, anyone can take charge. There are no guidelines from N4Ms on Meet and Greets. From my review of past MGs from around the country, it appears that most MGs were at restaurants, with at home MGs a popular second. Except for two, MGs at homes were potlucks. We are so luck to have many wanting to do something this holiday season. With our busy schedules, I thought a master calendar for 2010 would help in spreading out the MGs. If you have an idea, please step forth. As with any volunteer endeavor, things will fall through the crack. We don't have a managing committee, board of directors, president, captain or anything.
Sincerely yours,
Bea S.
