Bea, I can help our stranded sailors over the holidays. Or any stuck at Sacramento airport. I'm on I-80 just 20 minutes west of Sacramento. I'm also glad to host the Sacramento area M&G, my house isn't so big but we've managed to squeeze quite a few people in before. Or we can use the conference room at my office in Rocklin if we don't want a restaurant.

Hi No. Cal. Moms,
My SAP moment:
Texting between me and my sailor Chrissy:
Me: Can I have ur permission to put ur pic up on the Wall of Heroes at Wal-Mart?
Chrissy: I am not a hero, I'm just in A school
Me: You are a hero. I am proud of you.
Chrissy: I know you are, but I haven't done anything
Me: It is for veterans day. I am going to put ur grandfather's pic up and I want to put u nxt to him.
Chrissy: Ok
Yay I win, got my fathers and my daughter on the Wall at the Jackson/Martell Wall-Mart! ~ Vicky

Vickie....Sacramento doesn't have a USO, the nearest one is in the bay area. Jody

I looked on the Sac Airport website and can't find a USO. I thought they all had a USO.

SAP Certificate (when you have had enough points ie moments, episodes you earn a certificate of recognition)
SAP Manual (a primer on how to be a SAP)
Contact a SAP (think you are the only SAP, reach out and ...)

Stupid Affirmative Parenting. Lori, get in the back of the line. I am a door mat. We'll get together and trade war stories. I still have bottles of wine left from Oct 25.

THANKSGIVING FOR SAILORS.
I'll keep a list of Nor Cal homes available to adopt a sailor for Thanksgiving. Post here if you can accommodate someone. So far we have: Bea S. Maureen, Rvogt and Katherine Reite. I'll join the Lemoore Group and post a comment, so parents with sons/daughters there will know. I'll also call the USO at San Jose and San Francisco (good idea, Monica). Can someone else do Oakland and Sacramento USOs? Will also ask Commander Nafarrete if any of the recruiters would like dinner w a family.

Fort Hood.I would have let this guy leave the army provided he pay all the money the army spent on his education plus interest and without any benefit (PX, medical, dental, GI bill, etc). We have discussed similar scenarios. The men in my family would disagree with my take because they feel if you let one person leave, then you have to let anyone leave - they take a hard line on this matter.

My son's gf broke up with him when he was in bootcamp. It was horrible, he was miserable. You can usually send them stuff in A school.

My son is in his A school and having a heck of a time. Apparently he cannot sleep and feels very over stressed. To top it off his gf broke up with him. Any tips on helping him deal with his stress issue and the sleep thing? I was thinking to send him cammomile tea but I am not sure if he can have it or Valarian root tea to help him sleep. He is so homesick it breaks my heart to talk to him on the phone. We havent seen Mike since he left for basic in August. Travel is not possible for us right now. Or I would be off in a second..
