Tee and I are on night patrol. We have come up with a number of alternatives to the ROFLMAO.
1. Reading Old Florida Ladies Mail At Oprah's.
2. Resplendent Overweight Female Lays Menopausal Assisted Outrage
3. Rocking Obstreperous Friends Love Making Airwaves Overheat

Paula, if you are ever up late and having those late night anxieties, PM me cause I'm probably online. I troll the groups late, looking for someone who's up and wants to talk. It doesn't help that many are from the East and 2 or more hours ahead of us!

Bea, you're a peach! Hi Cindy!
Happy Friday Eve,
Tee

Paula.....Hang in there, out of the blue you will hear from him.

Through all our deployments we would hold on to one thought, no news is good news. Even tho you want to hear from them, they are often doing things that they cannot talk about and we will never know about.

It doesn't make it any easier for you, but stay busy. Put together a box to mail to him and his bubbies. Fill it with things that make you smile!

Love ya,
Jody

Hi "LoriLAB" and welcome to the group. I can absolutely relate to you, my son is in his sixth week of boot camp. Your son will stay at a hotel the night before he goes to boot camp because the recruits begin their paperwork and testing at 4am. I'm not sure about the MEPS station where you're located, but my husband and I went the morning my son swore-in and were able to watch (and actually I filmed) his swearing-in ceremony. It was a WONDERFUL experience, the staff is extremely supportive and appreciative, and it was a great way for us to be part of our son beginning his Navy career. Between now and the 7th I would encourage you to take opportunities for family activites, take pictures and treasure the time you have. When he's gone the tears will probably fall at times and you'll find lots of support here through the difficult times. A few groups I've been leaning on (besides this one) are Boot Camp Moms and my son's PIR (graduation) group. After your son's been at boot camp for a couple of days, check with his recruiter and get your son's address. Begin writing letters the day he leaves (it helps), and number the envelopes to help him know what order to open them when you finally have his address and send them away. I wish I could say it will be over before you know it...I'm almost there, but still have two weeks ahead of me. Good luck to you, enjoy the week and we'll see you online!

Vernita.....We found out two weeks ago that the Green Bay was going to replace the New Orleans that was orginally scheduled for the event.

There schedule is really full with parades, receptions, tours and security, so he is only going to get a few hours of liberty with us. Having had him at the academy and having to work around school schedule and watch, there where alot of visit that were broken up into hour segments. We take what we can get. We are on stand by on his schedule. He won't know his exact schedule until they port in San Fransisco. Unfortuntely he will not have enough time to come home, which what I was hoping for.

Oh well I am still going to ge to see him! That's what is important.

Its been way to quite here.

For you newer Navy Moms, the City of San Fransisco sponsors a fleet week which will run from Oct 10 through the 13th. Its a great event if you have never been, specially if you like airshow s(Navy's Blue Angels). I am attaching the link to the web page.

I will be there because my son's ship will be part of the fleet on display.

I plan on taking a big batch of home made cookies for my son's group.

Can't wait to see him, its been 11 months since I last saw him, it was right before he deployed to Afghanistan last year. I am so excited to see him and spend a few hours with him!
