Hey Vicky, Kathy and Paula - here is one of our answers from Mark (posted on the NUKE group):
Comment by Mark 11 hours ago Hi Maria,
"C" schools are not part of the nuclear training pipeline. "C" schools are shorter schools (like a month), that a sailor may get (usually) after some sea time. Often, a sailor may negotiate for a specific "C" school as part of a re-enlistment package. Each rating has it's own "C" schools, and they are usually intended to make a sailor a technical expert in maintaining or repairing a specific piece of equipment. MMs, for example can get a "C" school for the air-conditioning plants on a submarine. "

So, now I know what my sailor didn't understand what my question was, and we all have an answer~S

Hi kperry, I'm glad you joined us! I'm right with you, I miss 'B' so much. He's my only son and my youngest. It already seems like forever since PIR! They don't call much from pre-buds it seems....Hi Cindy, how's it going? Have you received any calls yet? (other than the 15 second one) Welcome Monica, I was new to the networking thing too, you'll get the hang of it. We appreciate hearing from moms of deployed sailors. Noe, be looking in the mail for your "form letter" if you haven't already gotten it. Be sure to keep it because it has the password for getting into graduation and it has your son't official address. Check out the RTC website too (on the form) it has much good info.

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Hello kperry! I'm new to the group with a son in his third week at BC. I joined the group last week and am so happy to have such a wonderful group in the area. Look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event!

I am new to this group! Tee-1sailor's mom emailed me about it! My son G is in preBUDS in Great Lakes right now. His PIR was 8/21.
I miss him like crazy! I have three other children, ages 15, and 7 year old twins. I am widowed, and a high school teacher.

Hi Noe,
I think the box is an adventure for each of us and raises questions that we just really wish we could ask...but we have to wait and guess! I don't know the answer to where the notebook may be other than to be pretty certain he doesn't have it. You should be able to get your son's address from his recruiter (if you don't have it already) and I'd recommend sending the addresses with the letter so he'll get it with his first delivery of mail. And, in case you didn't see the earlier recommendation from another member of the group, number the outside of the envelopes when you send letters so if your son receives more than one at a time he'll know the order they were sent. I encourage you to keep an eye open on boot camp moms for others in your son's division and join the PIR group as soon as you have a date -- good luck to you!

leeana, FYI, they call one of the weeks in Boot Camp Hell Week, which everyone goes through, not to be confused with the Hell Week in BUDS. That's a totally different animal, and I mean ANIMAL! Also, Sp Ops moms don't get to use their sons name or put his picture anywhere public (like here.) It's hard not to be able to share that way but it's for their protection.

Hi Leeanna,
Good luck to you...my son is in his third week of boot camp and I am eagerly looking forward to his PIR on October 16th. If you look at the boot camp mom's group you'll get an early idea of his likely PIR date and can soon join those discussions. For me it's been great to compare notes with other moms from my son's division...sometimes very entertaining!

It sounds like you all a great time last Sunday, wish I could have been there. Next time for sure....

Another suggestion Leeanna, when you get his PIR date join that group. Going through BC with others experiencing the same and the same time is priceless! My son just graduated on 8/21 so it's still very fresh...
