Hi Carol,
I'm sorry you won't make it tonight. My son's still in boot camp, with plans for PIR 10/16 and then to sub school. Sounds like you're a little further down the path that I'm starting, and I look forward to talking with you and hearing about your experiences. Good luck with your paperwork!

Hi Everybody: We are home from Topaz and the family reunion - mini vacation. Had sickies - dogs too. Lots of work. Unfortunately, I can't make it tonight. Our daughter is working two part time jobs, and we have to take Owen to cub scouts.
We are planning on Sunday even with just the four that have said YES. Vickyrun looks like she is coming from Sutter Creek and that will be about a two and a half hour drive one way - if it is too much, please let me know. So far, unless everyone decides that they can't come we are a GO for Sunday in Nevada City. ~s

Wish I could attend the dinner on the 9th but need to save up for PIR on the 25th. Hope you all have a wonderful time, maybe next time my husband Cal and I can join y'all. In mean time, God bless our kids, and our families. Have fun at the Speghetti Factory.

To Everyone,
I am calling Commander Nafarrete to inform him that we have just a small number of RSVPs for the Sept 13th Nevada City Event and suggest that he cross the event off his schedule because we don't want to impose on him. He has a young family, he'll appreciate the advance notice.

Regardless of he number of RSVPs, I plan on having the Oct 25 Event.

Leeanna,
RE Sept 20. Go ahead and post the event with you as organizer in EVENTS. I'll add it to the Summary of Events Discussion above. Let me know if you want me to set it up.

I don't recall reading anywhere guidelines for "official" events - only requirements if we wanted an Events Kit. I am following some guidelines suggested by Jody because we have a guest for the 25th. Thank God for Jody. without her, I'd be making up my own rules. It's a good thing I am not the sailor in the family.

Naomi, just come by before or after dropping off you son, if plane schedule changes. Please ask your friend to join the group and RSVP as well. We have another local family with a son waiting for BC. I am pretty sure they'll make it.
