What a wonderful idea! I think my grandson may have a book reading from his uncle in the the near future. Navy moms (and dads) have the best ideas!
Welcome to our new members! (sorry I've been scarce lately, will try to be better)
Good Glorious Morning: I'm doing the N4M happy dance (for those of you who are new - this is a Navy 4 Mom's dance that usually happens with tears of happiness streaming down my face, usually in my pj's or robe. We have the happiest grand-girl in the world. Her sailor came home yesterday. He put together that we visited, and so his grandfather must have passed. He knows us so well. He will be here for the wake - which will be a wonderful blessing.
Thanks Pay, yes he read books for her before he left. I've been thinking that maybe Pa and I need to do that too.
To all who have daughter sailors - thank you and them for their service. Please give them an extra hug when you can - even if it is a phone hug.
Thank you for the welcome ladies! My son left for bootcamp on Tuesday. Recieved the bleary call about 1AM on Wednesday. Wanted to be connected with others who are also supporting thier Navy SR's. I grew up in the military lifestyle as my father was an Air Force Navigator. Nice to know there are Navy mom's nearby, I am in Cameron Park.
NS....Have your thought about doing the DVD reading for Miss Brianna? I know that helped alot when my son was gone.
Our Son sat in recorded a couple of books for the girls before he left. Then when our DIL need a break she would put daddy on the TV and the girls would follow along with the book as daddy read to them. Prepare you could do that for Brianna and send the DVD and book along so you all could have reading time together. My DIL said it was often the only 10 minutes of quiet she would get in the day sometimes. Good Luck! Prayers for all.
Good morning, This month the Navy honors all of the women who are serving and who have served in the Navy. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Happy International Women's Day
Weclome LisaD....Please let us know if we can assist you on this new journey called the Navy!
Tee...Sounds wonderful coming out to you house even if its for your wonderful coffee:)
Hey everyone, glad the M&G was good, sorry I had to miss it. Is anyone up for meeting at my house again? Maybe mid-late April? I know it's kind of out of the way and pot luck is not as easy as a restaurant but I love having people over. Throwing it out there. We could do take out...pizza or Chinese...
Wendy....Welcome to our group.
Sounds like with three of you in the Elk Grove area we should have you pick a place for us to all get to gether for a Meet and Greet. .
Welcome! I am sort of an Elk Grovian. I live out on the River between Hood/Franklin road and Twin Cities. We moved there in December from the Bay Area. I go into Elk Grove twice a week for physical therapy when I am at the farm house. My son has been in for 3 years and he is an IT on the USS Ronald Reagan. PIR is amazing. It is an event not to be missed if at all possible.
