So weird, El Azteca is right around the corner from where I used to live.

It has been over a year since I saw my sailor, so last nights dinner date with him and GF was really great.  He looks so good!  those three hours flew by so quickly.  He will be on his way to Pt Mugu later this week and will be there for about six months before being deployed to ????  Looks like a road trip is in my near future. It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday night!

Allison....You need to give a Kleenx warning when you post stories like that.  Hoe proud you must be of your son and your fellow passengers!

One reminder ladies PLEASE RSVP  up above.  You just need to click on the Meet and Greet and it will take you to the spot you need to click on.  This helps me when I need to reserve a table.  Thank you.

I don't think I've shared my story with you guys but below is my recap of my experience on my flight home from attending PIR 2 weeks ago. It was such an amazing trip but than to experience this on my way home from graduation made it even more surreal. Below is a copy of my Facebook post sharing my story.

The past few days have been very emotional, seeing my Bubby Bermudez for first time in 8 weeks, watching an awesome ceremony, and then saying goodbye again. The emotional weekend concluded with an experience I will never forget. I flew from Milwaukee to Sacramento with a stop in Seattle. I'm siting on the plane in Seattle and looking at the Tarmac and I see a Hearst approach our plane and several ...uniformed people standing in formation along with a family. A casket from the Hearst was loaded onto our plane and then a bit later the family and military escorts came on board. Prior to take off the pilot made an announcement that we were carrying a fallen soldier and his family on board. The flight attendants made a couple more announcements acknowledging the soldiers sacrifice as they tried to hold back their emotions. Well, of course I became very emotional too. When we landed in Sacramento they asked everyone to remain seated to allow the family to exit. As the family stood up to leave an elderly gentleman stood up and started singing God Bless America! Of course everyone joined in song. It was very moving and tears just rolled down my face. I don't think I've ever experienced so much emotion as I have over this past few days. God Bless all those that serve, as well as their families who share their loved ones for the sake of freedom or all.

Hi everyone. Been awhile since I've been on here. Things are finally getting back to the new normal now that i have been to/from PIR and my son is settled in at A school in Mississippi. I look forward to the meet and greet as that is our favorite place to eat and it's very close to me.

I'm happy to pick anyone up on my way. I'll be coming down Hwy 49 from Nevada City - please just let me know.

I am really sad, my favorite cooking pan has died. The coating started peeling and it was no longer safe to cook in. Now I have to find a replacement pan. I have been looking, but have not found a replacement for this dearly used pan...... I have been trying to use a few other pans in my set, but none seem to fill the place of my favorite large pan ( I am considering holding a memorial service for my pan, but alas garbage day is tomorrow, so I guess it will have to be a private service with just Dave, Seven and myself. Wish me luck that I find a replacement pan soon.

Lincoln Linda suggested that we hold a Meet and Greet in remembrance of this event.  For those of you new to the group we will get together for any reason:  Lost Earing, Found Earing, Sewing machine malfunction, Just needed a Navy hug.  Ok, I think you get the idea.

So with this in mind the next Meet and Greet will be:

Sat. March 2, 2013

1:00

El Azteca Taqueria

Ste 103
Roseville, CA 95747
