six I am in the Redding/Anderson area. Grew up in Seattle and moved here bout 12 years ago. My husband grew up in Vacaville and he still has lots of fam there. cool and good to know there are those  closer to me.

I have 2 daughters who one in middle school and the other in highschool. I think to myself sometime gosh I cant wait till they move out! And now that its getting closer to the time my oldest will be leaving the thought gets me shivering. ya'know? I tried to tell my mom and she is just laughing at me......in a good way but its still a bit frustrating.

Having a 17 year old in BC I dont know how you will handle it. I feel like they are still babies......I know its not true and they are becoming adults. Its so hard.... I cant imagine how my mom felt - I left home at 16 had him when I was his age....and just trying to wrap my head around it all. I am so dang proud though that he is choosing this responsibility but it makes my heart break too.

all right I think that is enough of me talk for a minute at least...heehee. Everyone feel free to tell me to suck it up sometimes I need that too. :)

thanks again y'all for the welcoming words. I so get forward to getting to know you guys.

Six would you mind if I sent an friend invite?

Welcome Fleur -

Hey ladies...I haven't 'chimed' in in awhile. I'm really bummed tonight. Tomorrow is our son's PIR and me and our little one weren't able to go =o(. Just spoke with my husband. He's at the Navy Lodge and will send me pictures tomorrow. just feeling a bit heart sick that I won't see my boy tomorrow.

Fleur...Welcome to our group, please do not feel you are "butting in".  We all have one common bond here, our children are in the Navy.

Please feel free to ask your questions here, there are no silly or dumb questions.  We have all been there at one time or another.

We all come from different walks of life and our children serve in a varity of jobs

We are a happy group and often get together just because.

Looking forward to getting to know you better.  Please let us know if there is something that we can help you with.

We have a saying that no one understands what you are going through, other than another Navy mom.

That's quite a "load" Monica.......(inside joke) but seriously, that's a lot of homework on top of your job.  No time to get into any trouble, huh?  Darn.

Me?  I'm living the life of a single woman with a cat...still working, that was probably the decison you're thinking of.

I went ahead and added our next get together at Mira Belle's to the Bulletin Board above.  If you will just click on the Northern Calif Meet and Greet  it will take you to the RSVP board.  Just RSVP so I know how many tables to have set up for us.  See you all on the 10th of Nov.
