Susan....So how did your first day at your new job go?
Comment by NevadaSierra on September 12, 2010 at 9:05am
Hey everybody:
How are you all??? We had a great family reunion. The sailor son and our little angel Miss Brianna (2 1/2). His wife and teenage daughter couldn't join us because of school. I will try to get pictures posted later this week.
So, today I 'officially' start my second part time job. I'm what they call a 'Supply Pastor" for the North Gold Circuit. North San Juan, Downieville and Sierra City. All realitively close to our home in Nevada City, Ca. Three church's and their communities. Whew - this is BIG. Especially for a lay person.
BQB the pictures are great. I am doing a litany for 911 today.
The Constution Day Parade is happening in Nevada City today. When you can, please remember a prayer for the great country and those serving it. My angel blessings to each of you, Susan
Okay, I have to run. Hope you all have a great Sunday. My angel blessings, Susan

Need some assitance:

A couple of us have volunteered to help with a service project for sailors. We are undertaking the task of making a pillowcases for every sailor on the USS Abraham Lincoln for christmas 2010.

Currently we need to make 200 pillow case.

What we need help with is fabric. I know some of you have sewn in the past and have a stash of fabric lingering around.

If you have any 100% cotton, mim 1 yard that you would be willing to donate to our project we would greatly appreciate it.

Please contact me if you are able to help us with this project.

Thanks!

PS: My son is not on this ship, but these individuals are in the Navy family and its just my way of saying Thank you..

Yeah she can at least settle if for a while in a place she can call home (for now) . Good for her!!!

My son is CEC in So Cal. He has a hus-buddy (which I am glad about) and his hus-buddy has a very nice wife. She is very informed and willing to share info..other than "I don't know". I am glad she now has two husbands! It is only for the next 3 months and then he goes on tp Texas. what am I going to do without his hus-buddy's wife?!?!

Okay, okay, Paymaster, I'm here. I'm here. I've been lurking at work mostly. 50+ hours a week and can't keep up. I was looking forward to the long weekend, but I think I have to come into the office over the weekend. Oh, well, at least I love my job, so that's a plus. My sailor finished up ATT school two weeks ago and classed up for A school at GL on Thursday. She's going days, so she's out by 2:30 or so in the afternoon. She's got her new husband there now and they've got live-ashore paperwork complete, so she's not living on base anymore -- other then when she has duty over nights, etc. She's happy, working hard, hates the weather, too much humidity, but tickled with what she's doing. I've made plans to fly back in November for 9 days and sit and stare at her and her hubby. I just want to soak them in for a while and cook and clean up after them and do all those mom things. I keep up with all of you by reading your posts. I lurk to find out if Chrissy has gotten her C school orders yet, and whether you've made a new quilt -- sorry to hear about your motorhome. I'm trying to keep up! You guys just move too fast for me.
