Those look awesome, Penny!

These look great!! Pretty darn good for your first try if i do say so myself!!

In regards to my "graduate" cake pops on Sym's Chocolates, I made the "boards" out of solid chocolate. For the cake pop I used the peanut butter cup mold. I placed chocolate in the mold, let it set up then added the cake pop mixture, placed the stick in the mixture, covered in chocolate and let it set up. I then added melted chocolate on top of the "board" and then placed a "Skittle" on top, then added a slice of candy for the tassle. Let that set up, when all is set up, added melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter cup and then let it set up before placing it in a bag with ribbon.

It's been a while. Thought I'd tell you about my 4th of July cake balls that I took to the BBQ.  I made chocolate ones and used a small amount of Almond Joy flavored liquid coffee creamer to moisten the cake crumbs.  Dipped them in choc. then used some white choc. that I tinted blue and did the zig zag across the top of them, then sprinkled with some red decorating sugar.  Then I made some spice cake ones that I used cream cheese frosting to moisten.  Dipped them in white choc. and used a white choc. drizzle across them then sprinkled with red and blue sugar.  Then I made a white cake and used some white choc. liquid coffee creamer to moisten the cake crumbs, dipped them in white choc.(actually it was vanilla on these ones and the spice ones), then sprinkled them with either red or blue sugar.  Oh, and I divided the white cake batter in half and tinted half red and half blue.  Everyone LOVED them and had never heard of them before.  Very festive.

omgosh, you guys are so industrious!  I feel like a perfect slug in this heat and humidity.

Those sound awesome, Kat!  ;)

Okay.  This was stolen from the SUB MOMS group.  sounded too fun for those that are away

on their birthday!  They suggested wrapping everything in several layers of bubbly wrap just to

be sure the glass doesn't break....

  Enjoy!

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cake-in-a-Jar/Detail.aspx

1 (18.25 ounce) package cake mix
8 straight-sided wide-mouth pint canning jars with lids and rings
DIRECTIONS
Prepare the cake according to package instructions, or use any cake recipe.
In pint size, straight-sided wide-mouth jars, put 1 cup of batter in each greased jar. Make sure to keep the rims of the jars clean. Put in preheated oven 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place jars on a cookie sheet to keep from tipping over while baking.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
While they are baking, have your jar lids boiling in a pan of water. When the cake is done, take one jar out at a time and add the hot lid and screw on your jar ring and let set and cool.
It will seal as it cools. Place the jars on the counter and listen for them to 'ping' as they seal. If you miss the 'ping', wait until they are completely cool and press on the top of the lid. If it doesn't move at all, it's sealed.
After it cools it will pull away from the jar and when you are ready to eat, open and pop out the cake and enjoy.

Add a can of frosting w/ the package.

thanks for the recipe for cake in a jar -- I am going to try that one.

Bobbysmom - those cake balls look fantastic!!  Keep up the great work.
